Genetics
Our entire cattle herd is of Angus based genetics with approximately 70% registered by the American Angus Association. This association has the worlds largest database for genetic information on cattle. By the use of artificial insemination and embryo transfer we have introduced some of the finest genetics in the Angus breed. Presently, 90% of our calves are born as a result of artificial insemination.
Our genetic goals are to produce efficient cattle that survive and excel in the southeastern United States, have high fertility, and produce a superior beef product. |

Sales
BULLS In order to make our genetics available, we keep our top performing bulls (both in weight gain and genetics) every year. This allows us to collect data at weaning and at yearling for weight gain, size, reproductive development, and carcass quality. All yearling bulls undergo a complete breeding soundness examination and are ultrasound evaluated for carcass quality. This allows us to sell bulls we feel have satisfactory breeding potential and can make a positive impact on our clients’ herds. Our bull customers are asked to allow me to select females from our bulls to add to our annual sale. Our bulls are available through private treaty off the farm and through public auction at our annual Central Carolina Performance Breeders Sale. Please look at the Angus Bulls page for examples of the bulls I am offering.
FEMALES Each year, we offer selected females for sale primarily through the North Carolina Angus Association sponsored sales. These females are usually bred to have A.I. sired calves and mature cows usually are sold as a pair with registered calves. Our goal is to sell cows by 6 years of age, during peak production. These proven cows take the guess work out of beef production.
FEEDER CALVES Presently I am working with a select group of clients to market feeder calves out of the bulls they have purchased from our program. The goal is to market calves that are weaned, preconditioned, genetic guaranteed, age and source verified, and are free from hormone and antibiotic treatments. These calves are offered in 48,000 pound lots, tractor trailer loads. |
